The National Innovation visa program is for exceptionally talented migrants who are ready to make a significant contribution to a range of nationally important sectors in Australia. The National Innovation visa replaced the Global Talent visa on 6 December 2024.
NATIONAL INNOVATION 858
The National Innovation visa program is a small, invitation only program with a focus on talented migrants within priority sectors in Australia, including Tier One sectors of Critical Technologies, Renewables and Low Emission Technologies and Health Industries; and Tier Two sectors of Education, Agri-Food & AgTech, Financial Services & FinTech, Defence Capabilities & Space, Resources and Transport & Infrastructure. Applicants must be of a high-calibre talent who can make significant contributions that will benefit Australia’s future prosperity.
Applicants can be Global Researchers; Entrepreneurs, both established and emerging; Innovative Investors, with a focus on the quality of investments and not thresholds; and Athletes and Creatives, particularly those who will raise Australia's international standing.
Applicants must evidence their internationally recognised record of exceptional and outstanding achievements. If you are under 18 years old, or are 55 years or older when you apply, you must be of exceptional benefit to the Australian community.
EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI)
You will need to lodge an EOI, which is an expression made to the Department of Home Affairs that you would like to be invited to apply for the National Innovation visa. Successful EOI candidates will receive a unique reference identifier and a code to move forward with lodgement of the National Innovation visa. EOI's are valid for 2 years.
